EXCLUSIVE FEATURE FOR HISTORY CHANNEL FANS!
On May 1st, 2008, The History Channel aired a show featuring the Castroville Hearse currently on display at The Institute of Texan Cultures in San Antonio.  Since the broadcast, the Institute has received hundreds of calls inquiring about the hearse despite the fact this was just a re-broadcast from a show produced several years ago.  Everyday Paranormal has conducted two investigations at the Institute in recent months and have uncovered some staggering evidence not known at the time of the show's production involving the hearse (not to mention other areas of the museum.)  Everyday Parnormal is in the middle of its own television production featuring its findings at the Institute; however, we would like to give you a sneak peek into evidence captured around the hearse that no one outside EP and the Institute have seen yet.  Here is a comment from a spokesman at the ITC:

"The Castroville Hearse, manufactured in Cincinnati, Ohio in 1898, has been an object of paranormal curiosity for many years at the Institute of Texan Cultures in San Antonio. Security guards have reported that the doors open by themselves, visitors have reported hearing voices coming from inside the hearse, and several paranormal investigations have documented inexplicable activities surrounding the hearse.  Naturally, the Institute of Texan Cultures cannot endorse or deny the existence of ghosts, but they do acknowledge that every culture that came to Texas has a place for ghosts in their folklore."

The following picture of the Castroville Hearse was taken by an Institute of Texan Cultures staff member during a paranormal investigation in September of 2006 using a Mavica digital camera. The ghostly figure standing on the left wasn't noticed for almost two weeks. What makes this photo interesting to the ITC staff is that the figure is in stocking feet, and in late 19th century south Texas, corpses were not buried with their shoes on.

Everyday Paranormal was able to support the claim set forth in the photgraph above.  EP Investigator Gretchen is fluent in French.  If you don't know Texas history or the heritage of Castroville (small town Southwest of San Antonio), you need to know that Castroville was settled by French immigrants in the 1800s.  Zane (the teenage son of one of the ITC employees) was present with us the night of the first investigation, and he had a great idea.  He asked that we try an EVP session "en Francais".  Amazingly enough, IT WORKED!  We got a very grainy "no" response to a question Gretchen asked in French.  During our second investigation, we wanted to once again test out Zane's idea since it seemed to work the first time.  The result this time was an absolutely clear response in French.  In the clip below, you will hear Gretchen asking the question in French.  The translation of what Gretchen asks is "Are you the man who is hanging around the area?"  You will here what sounds like an irritated response.  The tranlation to this response according to Gretchen is "I understand your brother is here."  Ironically, brothers Brad and Barry were standing next to each other on the other side of the hearse.

It does not end there.  We wanted to try an experiment where we placed a wireless audio recorder inside the hearse.  In the process of doing so, we captured the EVP of a voice saying "not dead".  Check it out.  You will hear it as a whisper during all of our chatter in about the middle of the clip.

We collected so much other evidence in the museum that night that we will feature on our video due to come out sometime in the late summer of 2008.  Everyday Paranormal will also be at the 2008 Texas Folklife Festival on June 13-15, 2008 at the Institute of Texan Cultures to talk about all the findings from our investigations there and elsewhere.  The ITC may not be able to give an opinion one way or the other, but in the professional opinion of EP, the Institute is Certified Haunted.  They have received our coveted C.E.P.A. designation and will be appearing very soon on our C.E.P.A. page.
